The Essential Baseball Rules
Batting
The batting team is responsible for hitting the ball and trying to score runs. They will have nine chances to hit the ball, with three outs per inning. After three outs, the teams will switch and the other team will get a chance to bat. The batter will stand at home plate and wait for the pitcher to throw the ball. The batter can then decide whether to swing at the ball or not.Fielding
The fielding team is responsible for trying to get the batting team out. They will do this by catching the ball, tagging a runner, or throwing the ball to first base before the runner can make it there. Each team will have nine players on the field, with three outfielders, three infielders, and a pitcher.Running the Bases
Once the batter hits the ball, they will run to first base. If they can make it to first base safely, they are allowed to continue running to second, third, and then home. The other team will be trying to get the runner out by throwing the ball to one of the four bases before the runner can make it there.Scoring Runs
Once the runner has successfully made it around all four bases, they will score a run. The team with the most runs at the end of nine innings (or less, if one team is ahead) will win the game. Conclusion
